KujaKingi

Hikers on Staircase

The KujaKingi project, funded by STEA, aims to strengthen clients' mental, physical and social health and quality of life, as well as independent living, through outreach work and service guidance. The target group is people outside of services, those with low service engagement, and marginalized people suffering from substance abuse and mental health problems in the Helsinki metropolitan area (Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa).

The operating model is based on the KujaKingi model, which involves on-site service guidance by a social worker and a nurse, as well as flexible support to help the client get the help they need. The approach is culturally sensitive and takes trauma and neuropsychiatric challenges into account. In addition, peer workers and partners are trained as KujaKingi.

Goals:

1. People suffering from substance abuse and/or mental health problems will be more aware of services. They will be able to access services and receive acute help for their situation wherever they are.

2. A client suffering from substance abuse and/or mental health problems receives tailored and longer-term help for their situation. The client becomes more involved in the service and their life management improves.
